Hair Rules! The Real Young Prodigys Embrace The CROWN Act with "CROWN Remix" Visual

Louisville, Kentucky collective The Real Young Prodigys present the official visual for "CROWN Remix", powered by Hip-Hop Into Learning (HHN2L),

an afterschool Hip Hop-based education organization. Creating awareness and expansion for anti-discrimination laws like the CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair) is a part of HHN2L's ongoing movement to educate others on racial injustice and Black history in America.

Directed by Dantana Smith, the video features The Real Young Prodigys donning colorful tresses, flexing their hairstyles with synchronized choreography. Louisville designer / influencer Mel'Vontae appears as a judge in opposition to the group, but in the end TRYP prevails.

"CROWN Remix" is a follow up to The Real Young Prodigys 2021 song and video "CROWN", which garnered national recognition and helped to pass The CROWN Act city-wide in Louisville, making it illegal to discriminate against a person based upon their hairstyle. The next step is to inspire The CROWN Act to be passed state-wide in Kentucky.

Founded by 2019 Kentucky Elementary Teacher of the Year NyRee Clayton-Taylor and community activist Antonio Taylor, HHN2L utilizes The Real Young Prodigys as a creative way to develop programs and affect social change. "The Real Young Prodigys create and use Hip Hop music to change policy,” says NyRee Clayton-Taylor. “They have created their very own song that represents what Black hair means to them.”

"CROWN Remix" is available now on all streaming platforms here: https://vydia.lnk.to/TRYPCROWNRemix via HHN2L / Vydia.
